Vinnytsia (Ukrainian: Вінниця, also transliterated Vinnitsa from Russian: Винница) is a city in Central Ukraine, the administrative center of the Vinnytsia region. 267 km southwest of Kyiv, it has been known since the Middle Ages, and is home to a former Soviet Cold War airbase. Vinnytsia is now an industrial center (particularly, dominated by the Roshen corporation), a growing international IT-outsource center and the main base of the Ukrainian Air Force.
